The Super Bowl and the Gulf War

Super Bowl XXV was, appropriately, a patriotic game. The colors of both the Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants were red, white and blue. More than 74,000 fans stood and waved American flags as they sang the national anthem. The halftime show was dedicated to our troops in the Persian Gulf.

The teams played like the professionals they are, without brawling, bickering and arguing. It was an excellent football game. Although I am a Buffalo fan (Marv Levy was head coach at Berkeley when I was a student there), my congratulations to the New York Giants.
