WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Cougars Rout Trojans, 74-47

Freshman center Lisa Leslie was held to eight points and three rebounds--her lowest totals of the season--and Washington State handed USC its worst defeat of the season, 74-47, Friday night in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Pullman, Wash.
The Trojans (10-8 overall, 4-4 in the Pac-10) were held scoreless for almost six minutes late in the first half. The Cougars (12-5, 5-3) went on a 13-1 run to start the second half and led, 46-23, with 17:20 left.
No. 13 Washington 75, UCLA 71--Freshman Tara Davis made two free throws with five seconds left to clinch the victory at Seattle.
The Bruins (10-8, 5-3) led, 61-56, with 5:42 left, but the Huskies (14-3, 6-2) went on a 9-2 run to take a 65-63 lead with four minutes left.
