Eastern Washington Prolongs USIU’s Slide
CHENEY, Wash. — U.S. International got 37 points from Kevin Bradshaw and 31 points from Isaac Brown, but the Gulls were still 35 points short in a 118-83 loss to Eastern Washington in front of 1,184 at Thrope Fieldhouse Saturday.
Six other USIU players could only combine for 15 points as the Gulls fell to 1-22 with their 18th consecutive loss.
Eastern Washington built a 53-34 lead at halftime and had six players score in double figures. The Eagles shot 48% from the field and made nine of 33 shots from three-point range, while USIU shot 36% from the floor, 3-10 in three pointers.
Bradshaw’s 37 points were percentage points below his season average. He came in averaging 37.3 points a game after scoring 46 points or better in his previous four games. The 6-foot-6 senior guard finished 12-for-32 from the field, 10-for-16 from the free-throw line.
Brown, a 6-4 sophomore forward, was 10-for-23 from the floor, 11-for-18 from the line in producing his second highest point total of the season. He scored 35 against Chico State in December. Brown also led the Gulls with 11 rebounds and five assists.
USIU has not won a game since it beat Campbell, 72-67, Dec. 1. They have five games left.
Eastern Washington beat the University of San Diego in Cheney, 73-69, on Dec. 22.
Sophomore Justin Paola led the Eagles with 21 points. Kemo Patrick, who was 8-for-12 from the field, added 17. John Garrison, who was 4-for-4 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line, finished with 10.
