Corporate Shake-Up: The celebrated law partners McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney, Kuzak & Becker are undergoing severe internal turmoil. The “L.A. Law” firm, completing its fifth season on NBC, will see Susan Dey, who plays Grace Van Owen, departing--although we won’t get any reason for her absence until next fall. Likewise, executive producer David E. Kelley has told the Twentieth Television producing company that he also is departing. NBC said that Harry Hamlin, playing Michael Kuzak, and Jimmy Smits, playing Victor Sifuentes, are negotiating whether they will remain on the series. The other major actors in the series have agreed to remain on the show.
