President’s State of Union Address
Watching our nation’s leader give the State of the Union Address (Jan. 29) brought home to me one of the most fundamental differences between this leader and the leader of Iraq. Regardless of the outcome of this war to establish a “new world order,” Saddam Hussein will not have to campaign for reelection next year. George Bush certainly will and has already given his supporters a campaign theme much more appropriate than “a thousand points of light:” “If you have a hammer, find a nail.” Whether Bush is reelected or not, we are going to need more than nails to repair the damage caused by ignoring our domestic policies and agendas.
