Rams Add Raye, Teerlinck to Staff
The Rams filled their last two assistant coaching vacancies Monday by hiring Jimmy Raye as passing-game coordinator and receivers coach and John Teerlinck as defensive line coach.
Raye, 44, returns to the Rams after serving as an assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons and last season with the New England Patriots as offensive coordinator.
“(Ram Coach John Robinson) was the main reason (to come back),” said Raye, who worked for Robinson in 1983-84. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and his program.”
Raye made it clear he knows Ernie Zampese runs the offense.
“Any time you lose continuity, the sameness of people, you’re going to have a little bit of a transition,” Raye said. “But the main trigger-puller is still there, so that will lessen the burden.”
Teerlinck, 39, was the Cleveland Browns’ defensive line coach for the past two seasons.
