Washington Post Co.: The media company reported net income of $174.6 million for the year, a decline of 12% from 1989, on revenue of $1.44 billion, down slightly. Fourth-quarter results showed net income of $42.1 million for the Washington-based firm, off 18% from last year, on revenue of $369.4 million, down 3%. The company said the results reflected the weakened economy and corresponding advertising climate.
