New York Daily News Posts Loss: The strikebound newspaper lost $69.3 million in the fourth quarter of 1990, contributing to a 99% plunge in the operating profit of its parent, the Tribune Co., company officials said. The Tribune Co.’s fourth-quarter operating income fell to $1.2 million from $118.8 million a year earlier. The Chicago-based company did not report net income for the quarter, pending a resolution of the 3 1/2-month-old Daily News strike.
