FULLERTON : Tumor Forces End to Woman’s War Vigil
Linda Dunlap, the Garden Grove woman who has been living in a Fullerton church since Gulf War broke out Jan. 16, ended her public prayer vigil Tuesday.
Dave Dunlap said medical problems forced his wife to end her silent protest. She suffers from a brain tumor and has been on an experimental drug treatment program as part of a USC research project.
“She’ll continue to pray for peace from home,” he said.
Dunlap decided not to leave Fullerton’s Emmanuel Episcopal Church after she and her husband prayed for peace there within hours of the first allied bombing of Baghdad.
She has spent her time praying, writing letters to soldiers and reading the Bible.
