Westlake High went on an 11-0 run in the final 3 minutes 30 seconds, lifting the Warriors to a 51-42 Marmonte League girls’ basketball victory over visiting Thousand Oaks on Tuesday.

The win produced a three-way tie for first among Channel Islands, Westlake (17-6, 11-2 in league play) and Thousand Oaks (22-3, 11-2) with a game remaining.

Westlake had a tough time stopping the Lancers’ Michelle Palmisano, who finished with 26 points. Palmisano was especially effective in the second (10 points) and third (11) quarters. Suzanne Nelinger’s jump shot gave the Lancers a 42-40 advantage with 3:58 remaining, but that would be their last basket.
