Rockin’ for the Gulf: The band Sha Na Na is recording some old favorites as a rock ‘n’ roll tribute to U.S. troops in the Gulf. This week, the band will be joined in Studio City by the Shirelles, the Tokens and former Doobie Brothers member Jeff (Skunk) Baxter to record the new album. Songs to be featured include “Soldier Boy,” “Tie a Yellow Ribbon,” “Back in the U.S.A.” and “Please, Mr Postman.” The group plans to donate proceeds to the USO.
