Food for Failure
After reading the ingredients in the Los Angeles School District’s Coffee Cake (Jan. 10, Culinary SOS), I better understand why so many children in our school system have learning problems. Four cups of flour to 3 1/2 cups of sugar! With many people, sugar negatively changes their personality: Zap, the ability to concentrate is out the door. The school cafeterias are setting some of our students up to fail.
