Catcher Dave Valle signed a three-year contract worth $3.6 million with the Seattle Mariners.
Valle will receive a $200,000 bonus, $600,000 in 1991, $1.3 million in 1992 and $1.5 million in 1993.
Seven other players signed or agreed to new contracts:
--Catcher Mike LaValliere signed a one-year, $925,000-contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
--Outfielder Billy Hatcher of the Cincinnati Reds agreed to a two-year contract worth $3.2 million with a club option for 1993. He made $690,000 last season.
--Third baseman Chris Sabo agreed to a Cincinnati deal of $1.25 million, a raise of $990,000.
--Second baseman Jeff Treadway and the Atlanta Braves settled at $770,000, a raise of $520,000.
--Left-hander Greg Cadaret and the New York Yankees settled at $620,000, a raise of $315,250.
--Shortstop Felix Fermin and the Cleveland Indians settled at $550,000, a $245,000 raise for him.
--Outfielder Tom Brunansky and the Boston Red Sox agreed on a three-year contract worth about $8 million.
San Diego catcher Benito Santiago and Montreal outfielder Mike Aldrete took their teams to arbitration. Santiago is asking for $2.5 million.
