The English-language Jerusalem Post newspaper has started a daily column, “It Happened to Us,” that recounts experiences of Israelis since the war began. Among the entries:
A worried mother telephones frequent air raid warnings to her grown children--from Washington, D.C.
A couple are watching a popular TV comedy when sirens sound. They rush for cover but tape the show. Days later, friends ask to borrow the tape. When the familiar order to seek shelter appears, they rush to their sealed room. Only after turning on a radio and hearing no sirens do they remember that they’re seeing a tape.
