4 Die in Fog-Related Crashes Near Fresno
FRESNO — The worst fog of the season caused more than a dozen traffic accidents Thursday involving up to 100 cars and half a dozen big rigs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At least three people were killed in accidents on a 15-mile stretch of California 99 between Fresno and Fowler.
Two of the victims died in an accident involving a car and a big rig on the northbound lanes of California 99 at a south Fresno overpass, the CHP said. A third victim died in a separate accident, also on a south Fresno overpass.
A fourth person died in a fog-related accident in Fowler when his truck was struck by a train.
