Don’t Penalize the Conservers in a Water-Use Reduction Plan
Regarding the water shortage, I have never heard one city, county or water department official say to the federal government: “Stop the immigration. We don’t have the water.”
Nor have I ever heard one city, county or water department official say to the building industry: “Stop the building. We don’t have the water.”
Other counties have done it, and if the situation is really serious, it could be done here. One can only assume it is not serious.
Further, I have lived in Southern California all of my life and, along with other Southern Californians, have paid for, by our water bill and taxes, the reservoirs, dams, pipelines, canals and water systems that serve us. I resent having to lower my standard of living and change my lifestyle to accommodate the Johnny-come-latelys.
In the meantime, I think I will take another shower.
