Utah Restricts Abortions
All too frequently I have had the following conversation with my female patients:
“Are you sexually active?” “Yes.”
“Are you using any form of birth control?” “No.”
“Do you want to get pregnant at this time?” “No.”
“Then why aren’t you using anything?” “I don’t know.”
I’m sure most of those 4,000 Utah women with unwanted pregnancies knew they didn’t want to get pregnant before they had unprotected sex. Although I am pro-choice, I am angered by women who are so irresponsible with their bodies that they use abortion as a form of birth control. How hard is it to get a condom in Utah? Or in California for, that matter?
