Frank D’Alonzo, former Pittsburgh assistant football coach, is being investigated by university officials after a report in the Pittsburgh Press alleged that D’Alonzo gave money to players and provided other improper benefits.

Former Pitt defensive lineman Tony Siragusa, a starter with the Indianapolis Colts, told the Pittsburgh Press that D’Alonzo, now at Rutgers, gave money to him and lineman Burt Grossman. Grossman, who plays for the San Diego Chargers, declined comment. The newspaper also reported that a limousine and a hotel suite were provided to entertain recruit Mike Chalenski in 1988 and that money was given to wide receiver Reggie Williams to entertain recruit Baron Jackson the same year. D’Alonzo, who has been charged with improprieties twice before, said he has not broken any NCAA rules.
