More on Keating: Prosecutors in Los Angeles are trying to get a Superior Court judge to reinstate 12 counts in an indictment against Charles H. Keating Jr. and three other top executives at Lincoln Savings and its parent company.
Judge Lance A. Ito, who threw out 12 of 46 counts in the state securities fraud indictment last month, will hear arguments Feb. 25 on whether the charges should be reinstated. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office wants another chance at rewriting the indictments to conform to legal requirements. Prosecutors already had rewritten and expanded the original 42-count indictment after Ito dismissed 22 counts in November.
