San Diegan Nominated: Catherine Yi-Yu Cho Woo, a painter, poet and professor of Chinese at San Diego State University, is the newest White House nominee to the National Council on the Arts, the advisory board to the National Endowment for the Arts. The announcement by the White House brought to three the number of pending appointments to the NEA board by President Bush. Woo, 56, is also a member of the City of San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture. The nomination to the 26-member NEA board is subject to Senate confirmation. Woo’s term would expire in 1994.
