Free Tax Assistance Offered for Elderly, Low-Income Residents
Federal and state income tax preparation is being offered free at a number of locations throughout southeast Los Angeles County. The service is provided by Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
Qualifying taxpayers who want free help should bring the tax form booklets that they received in the mail, records of income and deductions, all W-2 statements and 1099 statements to:
Whittier Library, 7344 Washington Ave., Whittier, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays; Whittwood Library, 10537 Santa Gertrudes Ave., Whittier, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturdays; East Los Angeles Neighborhood Center, 33 N. Sunol Drive, East Los Angeles, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays; Downey Public Library, 11121 Brookshire Ave., Downey, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays; Neighborhood Center, 9255 Pioneer Blvd., Santa Fe Springs, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays; Norwalk Social Service Center, 11929 Alondra Blvd., Norwalk, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays; Huntington Park Library, 6518 Miles Ave., Huntington Park, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
