The University of South Carolina was notified in writing by the NCAA that the school is no longer on probation. The probation dated to 1987, when the men’s program was first placed on two year’s probation because of rule violations under former coach Bill Foster.
The NCAA extended the probation by six months last July in the wake of the school’s so-called steroid scandal.
