THE SIDELINES : Billy Tubbs May Be Charged
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State police are investigating an alleged altercation between a television cameraman and Oklahoma Coach Billy Tubbs after the Sooners’ 77-74 loss to Oklahoma State.
Campus police confirmed today that a KFOR-TV cameraman, whom they declined to identify, filled out a statement Wednesday night.
While walking toward the locker room in Gallagher-Iba Arena, Tubbs allegedly grabbed the camera lens, tore it off and threw it to the floor, striking the Oklahoma City photographer in the right leg, police said.
“It’s under investigation at this time,” Lt. Richard Atkins said. “The victim is not sure if he’s filing charges.
The cameraman would have to file a complaint and the Payne County district attorney would have to decide if the case has any merits, Atkins said.
