West Hollywood : New AIDS Clinic Operator
A community organization has assumed control of a West Hollywood AIDS clinic that served only about half the number of patients it was supposed to during the 21 months it was operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.
Administrators at the Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center said they hope to double the patient load at the West Hollywood HIV Clinic. Under the clinic’s previous administration, patient load lagged at between 400 and 500.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors agreed in December to let the gay and lesbian center operate the clinic.
Jean Murphy is the clinic administrator and Dr. Aaron Aronow is medical director. The clinic is at 621 N. San Vicente Blvd.
