Dominguez Hills Basketball Teams Face Doubleheaders

The Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s and women’s basketball teams, both of whom have had problems putting together back-to-back victories, still cling to playoff hopes as they enter the last full weekend of California Collegiate Athletic Assn. play.

The men’s team (15-9 overall, 4-5 in league play) is in fifth place, a half-game out of fourth and only a game out of third. The Lady Toros (15-8, 2-5) are also in fifth place, a game out of fourth and two games out of third place.

In the CCAA, only a fourth place finish is good enough to advance to postseason play. A split by either team this weekend would not necessarily eliminate them from playoff contention, but could damage their chances. Both teams have three league games remaining.

The teams play at UC Riverside Friday and play host to Cal Poly Pomona Saturday. The women’s games begin at 5:45 p.m. and the men will play at 8:05.
