Gulf War opponents are orchestrating a confrontation at Westover Air Force Base near Northampton, Mass., daylong vigils near President Bush’s seaside home in Kennebunkport, Me., and a rally in New York’s Times Square among scores of WEEKEND PROTESTS around the country. The New York-based National Campaign for Peace in the Middle East was coordinating the demonstrations. They have been planned for weeks but were given fresh urgency by this week’s allied bombing of a Baghdad building that reportedly killed hundreds.
