El Modena 68, West Torrance 47--Aaron Aguilar scored 20 points and grabbed a school-record 27 rebounds and Robert Baytosh scored 21 for host El Modena. The old record was 26 rebounds by Robby Pitesch in 1989.

Redondo 89, Garden Grove 79--Trailing, 42-41, Garden Grove was outscored, 19-11, in the third quarter and Redondo never lost the lead after that. Mark Perry scored 22 points and Bob Ioja 17 for host Garden Grove (13-12).

Rio Mesa 64, Buena Park 62--Mannu Kayaoglum made two free throws with two seconds left for visiting Rio Mesa (13-13). Buena Park was down by 10, 62-52, but rallied to tie it with seven seconds left on a pair of free throws by Prentiss Johnson--but Kayaoglum was fouled going up for a shot. Angel Barrios scored 19 for Buena Park.

Valencia 55, Crescenta Valley 52--John Wilson made two free throws with 45 seconds left to clinch the victory for host Valencia (16-7). Wilson and Marc O’Brien scored 13 points for the Tigers. Brad Haines scored 27 points for Crescenta Valley.

La Sierra 72, Cypress 64--La Sierra outscored Cypress, 23-14, in the fourth quarter to rally. Courtney Smalley scored 22 points, Vincent Laguana had 18--all on three-pointers--and Adrian Gutierrez had 12 to lead Cypress (9-15) at La Sierra.
