A series of computer malfunctions resulted in overpayments totaling $26,000 on Pick Six wagers at Los Alamitos Friday night, according to Lloyd Arnold, track president and general manager.

“It was one mixup after another,” Arnold said. “They (Amtote) said a printer on the computer malfunctioned, but I think the personnel here are not qualified.”

Those with all six winners in the Pick Six should have received $1,761.60, but a more lucrative payoff was posted for several minutes before the error was corrected, Arnold said.

Arnold said the computer problems also prevented satellite wagering at 14 outlets in Nevada. Arnold said the Nevada Racing Commission might suspend wagering on races at Los Alamitos until the problems are corrected.
