Trio-Tech International Posts $253,000 Loss

Trio-Tech International Inc., a San Fernando maker of test equipment for the semiconductor industry, reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $253,000, compared with a year-earlier loss of $493,000.

The latest loss in the quarter ended Dec. 28 came as Trio-Tech’s revenue inched up to $3.51 million from $3.48 million a year earlier. The company blamed the latest losses on the downturn in worldwide economic conditions.

For the first half of its fiscal year, Trio-Tech lost $334,000 compared with a loss of $704,000 a year earlier, and its six-month revenue fell to $7.24 million from $7.87 million.
