Roy Lanham; Member of Sons of the Pioneers
Roy Lanham, 68, a member of Sons of the Pioneers, the vocal group that appeared with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans in many of their films and TV shows. Lanham, who sang and played guitar, joined the group in the 1950s and toured with Rogers as a member of the band The Whippoorwills. Lanham, who was born in Kentucky and began touring as a teen-ager, also played jazz and pop music and recorded “Mr. Blue” and “Come Softly to Me” with the Fleetwoods.
