YAKETY-YAK: Orange Coast College’s speech team is right on schedule in its quest for a three-peat. This month the Pirates outtalked 17 other community colleges to win a regional tournament in Cerritos. . . . Their season record is 6-0 and the consecutive win skein is 15, dating back to March, 1989. The team, winner of national titles in 1989 and 1990, defends its crown in April on “home turf”: a Costa Mesa hotel. Sounding like colleagues everywhere, Coach Peg Taylor says: “We have to take it one tournament at a time.”
