20 Drown in India After Boat Rider Yells ‘Snake’

NEW DELHI — Twenty people drowned in south India when passengers aboard a boat panicked and capsized the vessel after a girl yelled “snake,” the United News of India reported Wednesday. The agency said 30 laborers on board stampeded when the girl shouted, and 10 of them swam ashore after the boat turned over Tuesday in the River Godavari.
