THE GULF WAR: The Battle Front : Troops: Kuwaiti Women
At New Jersey’s Ft. Dix, Kuwaiti women are trying something not allowed back home--WAR TRAINING. Women are among 212 Kuwaiti army volunteers recruited by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Washington to join the fight against Iraq. The volunteers--most STUDENTS AT AMERICAN COLLEGES--requested that their names and hometowns not be disclosed. Some women said they hope the war will result in more opportunities for Kuwaiti women, who do not have the right to vote.
