Wyatt’s 66 Leads LPGA Event in Hawaii
Jennifer Wyatt of Canada shot a career-best six-under-par 66 Thursday to take a two-stroke lead after the first round of the $350,000 Hawaiian Ladies Open.
Wyatt, leading an LPGA tournament for the first time, played in brisk morning winds that caused most scores to soar, and surprisingly, none of the golfers playing in the afternoon could catch her.
Patty Sheehan is two strokes back at 68, with Beth Daniel and Ok-Hee Ku of South Korea three strokes behind.
Only a handful golfers broke par on the 6,241-yard Ko Olina Resort course along Oahu Island’s west shore outside Honolulu.
