Nordstrom Inc.: The Seattle-based department store chain said its fourth-quarter profit of $46.3 million was 47% higher than in the fourth quarter of 1989, when the company set aside $15 million to settle employee wage claims. Quarterly revenue rose 5% to $902.2 million. Annual earnings were up 1% to $115.8 million. Revenue jumped 8% to $2.89 billion. The company credited continuing efforts in product quality and customer service.
