Polaroid Files Appeal Notice: As expected, Polaroid Corp. filed a notice of appeal in U.S. District Court in Boston, contesting a damages judgment in the company’s landmark patent infringement case against Eastman Kodak Co. Polaroid, based in Cambridge, Mass., previously announced that it would appeal a federal court decision that ordered Kodak to pay Polaroid $873 million for infringement on its instant photography process. The amount was believed to be the largest award of its kind in history, but was lower than some analysts expected.
