Dellums on House Intelligence Panel
Dellums is a controversial figure. Yet he hits the mark accurately when he writes, “The time to think beyond warfare is now.” In fact, the first time to think beyond war was probably thousands of years ago when humans first began to think that problems could be solved with war. Over the ages, war never really worked for humankind. Yet only in the past decade has an organization evolved that calls itself Beyond War, a tiny sign that some thinking has changed direction.
So let us support our military men and women in the Mideast conflict. At the same time, let us remember that war has never been kind to anyone and push to end it as soon as possible. Let us minimize the brutal human losses for us, our friends and our “enemies.” Let us get beyond war.
