Mater Dei, Marina to Meet in Bren Center

Mater Dei, Orange County’s top-ranked boys’ basketball team, will meet Marina and the county’s best player, center Cherokee Parks, in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Bren Center.

Both schools will begin selling 2,700 student and general admission tickets Monday for the 4,998-seat Bren. Any remaining general admission tickets will go on sale at the Bren Center on game night.

Semifinal game sites involving county teams, all scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday:

Division I-A

Mater Dei (25-4) vs. Marina (18-10) at Bren Center.

Division II-AA

Tustin (24-4) vs. Muir (23-4) at Pasadena High.

Division II-A

Artesia (23-2) vs. Kennedy (19-8) at Cal State Fullerton.

San Marcos (26-2) vs. Woodbridge (19-8) at Irvine High.

Division III-AA

Estancia (23-4) vs. Ganesha (16-11) at Garey High.

Division III-A

Servite (21-6) vs. Santa Margarita (16-9) at Christ College Irvine.

Division V-A

Brethren Christian (23-5) vs. Brentwood (16-10) at Harvard High.
