After waiting many years for a TV movie based on the lives and careers of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, I was offended by the drivel presented by CBS’ “Lucy & Desi: Before the Laughter” (Feb. 10).
Was that a story that really needed to be told? What was the entertainment value? It turned out to be just another lurid account of a couple’s personal relationship that could be found daily on the networks’ soap operas.
Now I know why the (Arnaz) children were against this movie. Shame on CBS for missing the real story and telling a story that need not be told.
