Charred Body That of Chatsworth Man
The charred body of a man found in a parking lot behind a Van Nuys bar has been identified as that of Mark Grinoli, 36, of Chatsworth, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Officials in the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Grinoli had been strangled before his body was doused with gasoline and set on fire.
Grinoli’s body was found in a corner of a parking lot behind the Dugout Bar in the 14000 block of Oxnard Street about 3:30 a.m. Friday, said Detective Ron Tabak. Grinoli’s motorcycle was found in an alley two blocks from the parking lot, Tabak said.
Investigators had no motive for the killing, but said the fire was set to cover up the strangulation.
