Al Klink; Big-Band Saxophone Player
Al Klink, 75, a tenor saxophonist with the Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Bob Haggart and Sauter-Finnegan bands, probably best-known for the sax exchanges he and Tex Beneke recorded on Miller’s fabled “In the Mood.” After the war, he recorded and appeared with Billie Holiday and the Haggart band and then with Yank Lawson and Haggart in their World’s Greatest Jazz Band. In Bradenton, Fla., on March 7 of lung cancer.
