ORANGE : Spring Break to Be Delayed by a Week

Schools in the Orange Unified School District will break for the spring holiday this year after Easter Sunday, one week later than usual.
School will be closed Monday through April 5 with classes resuming April 8. Classes had been suspended during the week before Easter in previous years.
The shift in the vacation period allows the beginning of the holiday to coincide with the last day of the semester, which is this Friday, district spokeswoman Gayle Wayne said.
The calendar change is due to fluctuations in the date for Easter Sunday. Next year, the holiday will fall on the week before Easter, Wayne said.
