NEW ZEALAND: New Zealand’s government plans to review and bolster its business-assistance and job-creation programs in an effort to stimulate its lackluster economy. The government has announced that it will begin to spend $298.8 million a year on programs designed to helped business create more jobs. The government has been criticized for not taking more action to deal with the country’s rising unemployment rate. Unemployment, already at 9.5%, will rise to more than 10.9%, according to New Zealand’s central bank.
