Ventura Man Dies When Motorcycle Crashes Into Car
A Ventura man was killed near Oak View Sunday after his motorcycle crashed into a car that had crept into the oncoming lane, the Ventura County coroner’s office said.
The name of the 39-year-old man was withheld because his family had not been notified as of late Sunday, said Dale Zentzis, deputy coroner’s investigator.
The man and a friend were headed north on California 33 on Harley-Davidson motorcycles at 3:10 p.m. when an unidentified southbound driver moved into an oncoming lane to make a left turn onto Creek Lane, Zentzis said.
The motorcycle slammed into the car and threw the rider onto the road in front of his companion’s motorcycle, which ran over the man’s leg, Zentzis said. The man was taken to Ventura County Medical Center by helicopter.
The man died at 4:35 p.m. An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
