Communications Firms Discuss Possible Merger

Com Systems, a Westlake Village long-distance telephone company, and Resurgens Communications Group of Atlanta said they are discussing a possible merger.

Resurgens agreed late last month to purchase a controlling interest in Com Systems from a Swiss concern for $30 million. If all of the holdings acquired from the Swiss concern are converted into stock, Resurgens would have a 56% voting interest in Com Systems.

Terms of a possible merger have not yet been determined, Com Systems and Resurgens said Monday.
