Discovery Acquires Learning: The Discovery Channel, a cable-TV network that airs scientific and educational programs, said it has reached a definitive agreement to buy the Learning Channel. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but a source said it is valued at about $30 million. Discovery has agreed to buy the 51% stake in the Learning Channel held by Financial News Network Inc. and FNN’s biggest shareholder, Infotechnology Inc.
