SANTA PAULA : 2 Arrested Over Shot Fired at Car
Two Santa Paula men were arrested on suspicion of shooting at a vehicle, brandishing a weapon and committing vandalism in connection with the shooting of a car driving at Mill Park in Santa Paula, police said Monday.
Danny Vasquez, 18, and Michael Huff, 22, were arrested Sunday after a single shot was fired at a car driven by Tami Saenz, 21, of Santa Paula on North Ojai Road, said Sgt. Gary Marshall. He said they apparently knew a juvenile in the car.
Neither Saenz nor her three passengers was hurt, he said.
Police arrived at Mill Park at 5:11 p.m. as Vasquez, Huff and a third suspect fled on foot, Marshall said.
Police continued Monday to search for a third suspect, who apparently fired the shot, Marshall said.
Vasquez and Huff were taken to Ventura County Jail, where Vasquez was still in custody Monday. Huff was released on bail Monday morning.
