SIMI VALLEY : Man Indicted in 4 Bank Robberies
A federal grand jury has indicted a Simi Valley man in connection with four bank robberies, including one in Ventura County, FBI officials said Monday.
Ronald Mark Verheggen, 25, was charged with robbing banks in Simi Valley, Northridge, Saugus and Canoga Park from Jan. 28 to March 5, officials said. Verheggen was arrested March 14 based on phone calls to the FBI saying that he resembled the man in photographs taken by a bank security camera and published in local newspapers.
Verheggen’s arraignment is scheduled April 8. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in prison and fined $5,000.
