Marina’s Parks Receives All-American Honors
Cherokee Parks of Marina High School has been named to Basketball Weekly’s All-American first team.
Parks, a 6-foot-11 center who’s headed to Duke on a basketball scholarship, was joined by Jason Kidd of Alameda St. Joseph on the first team. Parks averaged 28 points and led Marina to the Southern Section I-A finals.
Tes Whitlock of Loara was named to the national basketball magazine’s honorable-mention team.
