Turmoil in Iraq
Gee, somewhere I thought I heard that the war in the Persian Gulf was fought to protect and preserve human rights and decency in the world.
Hussein slinks back to Iraq and repeats the same atrocities against resistant citizens, soldiers and innocent children that he committed in Kuwait. The White House prefers not to “meddle” in this particular conflict. But why should we? What does Iraq have to offer us that could possibly compare with oil-rich Kuwait.
While President Bush has received much praise for the victory of a war that was militarily in our (very deep) back pockets, and one which merely relocated a frighteningly sick menace, I challenge him (with much skepticism) to face and resolve the battles that have been waging on our own shores for far too long.
